Please review the information below prior to submitting a registration form.
To Register To Vote In Utah, You Must:
- Be a citizen of the United States;
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Be a resident of Utah for at least 30 days immediately before the election;
- Not be a convicted felon currently incarcerated.
Remember to reregister:
- When your name or address has changed;
- When you want to register with a political party or change political parties.
If you are registering by-mail or online, your registration form must be received by the Salt Lake County Clerk Elections Division or postmarked at least 30 days before the election in which you wish to vote.
If you are registering to vote by-mail in Salt Lake County for the first time, you may include a copy of your valid voter identification or two forms of proof of residency or when you go to vote. Valid voter identification means:
- a form of identification that bears the name and photograph of the voter;
- or two forms of identification that bear the name of the voter and provide evidence that the voter resides in the voting precinct.
NOTE: Identification is not required for those who are 65 or older or disabled. If you have questions regarding valid voter identification, please call the Salt Lake County Clerk, Elections Division at (801) 468-3427.
Registration may be done in person at the Salt Lake County Elections Division, 2001 South State Street, Suite #S1100. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on legal holidays.
